41st International Symposium on Money, Banking and Finance
Annual meeting of the European Research Group (GdRE)

The GDRE Money Banking and Finance is a European research group in Money, Banking and Finance, codirected by Jean-Bernard Chatelain (University Paris 1) and Maxime Menuet (University Côte d'Azur). It aims at enhancing collaborations between researchers in the fields of money, banking and finance from many universities and other institutions in France and abroad.

KEYNOTES

Professor Eric Monnet is a Directeur d'étude (Full Professor) at EHESS and the Paris School of Economics. His research focuses on understanding how the evolution of finance, state intervention in credit markets, central banking, and the international monetary system have shaped European economies since the 19th century. His latest book, Balance of Power: Central Banks and the Fate of Democracies (2024), is published by the University of Chicago Press. He has also published extensively in leading international journals, including the Journal of Economic History, American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, Economic History Review, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and the Journal of International Economics.
Professor Gaël Giraud is a French economist specializing in environmental economics, financial systems, and macroeconomic modeling. He is a CNRS senior researcher and served as Chief Economist at the French Development Agency (AFD). He had also founded the Georgetown Environmental Justice Program at Georgetown University. His research integrates computational models with ecological and financial dynamics, emphasizing the need for systemic reform in economic policies to address global environmental challenges. Giraud is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and is recognized for advancing interdisciplinary approaches in economics.
